The session was delivered by Ms. Vachana S, a distinguished alumna of the department, on the topic “Introduction to Child Psychology: From a Child Psychologist’s Perspective.” In her address, Ms. Vachana provided a comprehensive overview of child psychology, focusing on the developmental, emotional, and cognitive aspects of children. Drawing from her professional practice as a child psychologist, she highlighted how early life experiences shape personality, learning patterns, and social behavior. She also emphasized the role of parents, teachers, and caregivers in fostering healthy child development and shared practical strategies for addressing common challenges faced by children in today’s context. Real-life case examples and her interactive approach kept the students engaged, sparking meaningful discussions about child well-being and mental health. The session was highly appreciated by the participants, who gained a deeper understanding of the importance of psychology in working with children and the diverse career opportunities in this field.
