The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences organised an expert lecture on “English as a Global Language: Pathways, Power and Perspectives” on 29th April 2025 through online conferencing platform, Microsoft Teams. The resource person for the event was Prof. Spoorthi A from Bangalore Institute of Technology.Bangalore. The lecture was organised for all the students, Research Scholars and faculty members of the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Around 150 students attended the session. The resource person emphasised on the importance of Communication in this competitive world. She elaborated on the latest genres and contemporary research areas in the field of Language. The participants were extremely intrigued by the lecture. The topic was relevant to the courses taken up by the students. The session was well organised and opened up new avenues for the students. The lecture ended with a ‘Question and Answer Session’ that was both informative and educative. The session was organised by Dr. Nasreen Ghani.
